Traveling to Laos is easy if you are an Asian traveler- with direct flights available from major and low-cost airlines. However, if you are travelling from North America, Europe, or the Middle East, it proves to be quite a challenge, and the last thing you want to face is a visa hurdle.
Introducing the long awaited visa program, launched on July 8th by the Laos government, granting all international travellers an eVisa to visit their beautiful nation for a period of up to 30 days.
During the launch of the eVisa program, Minister of Foreign Affairs Saleumxay Kommasith said that issuing visas electronically will make it easier for foreigners to visit the country, and also intends to improve Laos’ policy in partnering with the international community. The local infrastructure will also get an upgrade through the program.
The eVisa system will allow travellers to upload their visa forms and pay the fees entirely online, here. When the application is sent, the Laos authorities will send a visa approval letter by email. This letter will be required by immigration officials to allow foreigners access to the country.
