Select Indian Passport Holders Gain Visa-on-Arrival Access to Dubai

Emirates Airlines, one of two flag carriers of the United Arab Emirates, has introduced a convenient pre-approved visa-on-arrival service for select Indian passport holders in collaboration with VFS Global.

To enhance the travel experience for Indian passport holders, customers of Emirates Airlines arriving in Dubai will now be issued a 14-day single entry visa by the Dubai Visa Processing Centre (DVPC), which will be exclusive to Indian citizens holding a valid six-month visa for the US, a US Green Card, an EU Residency, or a UK Residency.

This initiative will significantly streamline the entry process for Indian passport holders who have booked their travel with the airline, reducing time spent waiting in queues and providing a smoother transition as they venture into the business capital of the world. It is important to note, however, that the issuance of visas under this program remains at the discretion of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs of Dubai.

Emirates Airlines, which currently operates 167 weekly flights to nine destinations in India, serves as a crucial link connecting travelers to Dubai and an extensive global network of over 140 destinations. The introduction of this pre-approved visa-on-arrival service reflects the airline’s commitment to offering innovative solutions that prioritize customer convenience and satisfaction.

Despite India’s growing influence on the global economy, its passport power rank of 68 and world reach score of 37% have prompted many citizens to seek opportunities abroad – at present, Indian citizens need a visa to travel to more than 120 countries. With Emirates Airlines now offering a visa-on-arrival service to Indian passport holders visiting Dubai, this initiative will open doors to increased mobility, connectivity and access to a global business hub.
