May Visa Agreement Updates

There have been several interesting visa agreement updates around the world recently. Here, Passport Index provides the details of each.

Effective April 16, 2017, citizens of India can now visit Ukraine with a visa on arrival. Visitors will still need to show border officials a hotel reservation confirmation. This boosts India’s visa-free score by one to 49 from 48, and also boosts its ranking in the Global Passport Power Rank 2017 to 76th place.

Also in April, Malaysia’s visa-free access to North Korea was revoked. It was the only country with visa-free access to North Korea, though North Korean citizens can visit 39 countries visa-free. The move decreases Malaysia’s visa-free score to 155 from 156 as well as its ranking from 4th place to 5th place.

Effective May 1, 2017, citizens of Montenegro can now visit Egypt with a visa on arrival. This boosts Montenegro’s visa-free score to 105 from 104 as well as its ranking to 41st place.

Finally, effective May, Moroccans can now visit Belize visa-free, boosting the passport of Morocco’s visa-free score to 56 from 55 and its ranking to 70th place from 71st.
