The leading online architecture and design magazine Dezeen has revealed its shortlist for its unofficial post-Brexit passport design competition, calling for a new UK passport.
The competition’s judges shortlisted nine very interesting entries, each of which highlights an aspect of the British identity or a theme that the new passport should stand for.
Dezeen’s shortlist comes in the wake of the UK triggering Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, which outlines how an EU member state may go about removing itself from the union within a period of two years.
Currently the UK passport’s design is the EU design with a burgundy cover and European Union written at the top. Following Brexit many Brits are calling for a new passport design to re-establish the UK’s identity without the EU.
The winner of Dezeen’s passport competition will be announced on April 11.
